Not a house mouse

yellow neck mouse

“Spring is sprung, the grass is riz, I wonder where the birdies is?”

With birdies in mind I have hung this feeder just outside the  window, with a perfect view from the dining table – enjoying nature without actually having to wade through the stinging nettles and stand in the rain.

Very few birds so far, (a couple of Great Tits)  but this little fella, a yellow necked wood mouse, or so Google tells me, seems to have taken over.   He has demolished three ‘fat balls’ in the space of a week.   Do mice fill their faces then rush home to feed the offspring?  He is very busy, racing backwards and forwards – and getting quite tame

I’m rather looking forward to meeting the rest of his family.   Will keep you updated :-).
